Using Submodifiers for More Control of Item Options Pricing

Submodifiers can be used to add more options to your Modifier Sets.

Add flexibility to Item options, including Price Multipliers and reducers.

Example: half toppings on a pizza can be added at half the cost of a full pizza topping.

In this example, you have options for Whole, Left and Right sides of a pizza for toppings.

Default is set to Whole with the price set to 100%. So any Modifier toppings that are included in an order for Whole pizza will be charged the full topping price.

When Left or Right is selected instead, the topping will be included at 50% of the total price.

Example: Adding extra charges for Modifiers when customers want 'Extra' toppings

In the case when you have toppings that are 'Included' in the Item price, but you want to charge for requests for 'Extra' of the included topping, use a Submodifier:

  • Make Submodifier options for 'None' and 'Extra'.
  • Set 'None' as default, and the Cost Multiplier to 100%.
  • Set 'Extra' Cost Multiplier to 200%
  • Be sure to Assign Modifiers to activate these
