Customizing Modifiers For Items

Modifiers were designed with the flexibility to efficiently handle most common needs of menu Items.

When you assign Modifier Sets to Items, you can dial-in very specific settings beyond those in the original Modifiers.

Required and Maximum Modifiers

  • Use the Required Modifiers setting to dictate the number of choices that MUST be made.
  • Set Maximum Modifiers when there is a limit to how many TOTAL options can be selected.

Example: For a beverage with 'Small, Medium or Large' options, set Required to '1' so that one choice MUST be made and set Maximum to '1' because only option CAN be selected.

Remove Modifier Options

One good strategy with Addmi Modifier Sets is to create one Set with all possible options for similar Items, and then select the options on an Item by Item basis.

Example: For tacos you may offer as protein options 'beef', 'chicken', and 'shrimp', but for enchiladas you only offer 'beef' or 'chicken'. For this example you can use the same Modifier Set, and turn off 'shrimp' for enchiladas.

You can also override the price of your Modifier options per Item. A chicken option for tacos may cost $1 and the same chicken option can be set to $2 for enchiladas.

Using Modifiers efficiently as described will also allow for an easy way to make an option 'unavailable' when you run out of the ingredient. You can set this setting within the original Modifier Set under the Modifiers tab.

Pre-Selected Options

Set Modifier options that are intended to be included with an Item but may be 'deselected' when an order is placed.
