The Addmi system requires a strong and reliable network connection to operate effectively. If an iPad is going to be utilized without your wifi network, we recommend that it be used in areas with a strong cellular network connection.

Router Recommendations:

1) It is recommended that the router used is NOT consumer grade. To ensure that your network is as efficient as possible, a business grade router is recommended. A business grade router is designed to scale easily, accommodating growth both in the number of user connections and in the amount of traffic moving across an enterprise network.

2) Check your provider for options for a battery backup for your router. This will prevent your router from losing power during an outage. If an outage occurs, the battery backup will be triggered, allowing for uninterrupted internet service.

3) Make sure that the network that is going to be used for the Addmi software is private. Having too many devices connected to the same network can cause a slowdown in the software's performance. If you are offering internet services to your guests, it is necessary that a separate network be established for the Addmi Point of Sale and Addmi Display Screen.

Cellular iPad

1) Follow Apple's recommendations about enabling cellular data on an iPad or contact your cellular provider about a cellular iPad. Set up cellular service on iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular models) - Apple Support

2) It is recommended that the Cellular plan be 5G. This will provide the speed and reliability necessary to efficiently run the Addmi software.

Cellular Hot Spot / Tethering

1) If Wi-Fi isn't available, you can always get your iPad online by connecting to your phone's hotspot.

**Mobile hotspots aren't always your best option in terms of data speeds and can cause a slowdown in the software.**
