There are a variety of options that affect the way the point-of-sale interface functions. 

Choose carefully the best mode for your workflow. 


SERVICE MODES

Service Mode Options

Service Modes focus on transactions, and affect printing receipts, tipping, and captures.

Select the mode that best matches your workflow.


Quick-Serve

Select this mode for a quick dining experience.

  • How this affects Credit Card Checkout:
  • Customer enters Tip on Screen
  • No Capture Required


Quick-Service with Authorize

This mode represents a quick dining experience.

  • How this affects Credit Card Checkout:
  • Pre-authorize Credit Card for the initial Total
  • Customer enters Tip on Screen
  • Adjust final tip amount
  • Capture Final Amount


Full Service

This mode represents a full-service dining experience.

  • This affects Credit Card Checkout:
  • Print out check and bring it to the customer
  • Collect Credit Card
  • Pre-authorize Credit Card for the initial Total
  • Print receipt for Customer to fill in tip, total, and signature
  • Adjust final tip amount
  • Capture Final Amount


You may change modes during service.

Ex: You may want to use Full Service during the day for table service (table layout), and then at night switch to bar only (Quick-Serve or Quick-Serve with pre-auth)



FOCUS MODES

Focus Modes are used to adjust interface layouts to best suit your workflow. Change modes based on order types, such as quick purchases and open tabs. Mode selection also dictates your initial screen for your Store.

IMPORTANT: Each option includes specialized features and will change the layout of the POS interface


Quick Serve

Use this mode when you make one-off transactions at the counter. 

Home screen: Split view with store menu items and your current transaction

  • Easily allows for a quick new order to checkout process
  • Can still change transaction type and/or create a tab


Bar

This mode changes the app's behavior to focus on open tabs.

Home screen: Grid view of currently open tabs.

  • Start a new tab or tables order
  • Can quickly switch between tabs, tables, and store screens


Seating (Table Layout)

This mode changes the app's behavior to focus on table layouts configured in the Dashboard.

The home screen is a table layout with tables and their status. QR codes created for Dine In fulfillment method with be included in this functionality. 

  • View your seating floor plan and the current status of orders at each table
  • Can quickly switch between table layout, tabs, and store screens




Seating (Grid Layout)

This mode changes the app's behavior to utilize the table names configured in the Dashboard. QR codes created for Dine In fulfillment method with be included in this functionality. 

The home screen is a grid view of tables presets.

  • Displays all open table orders
  • Quickly switch between tables, tabs, and store screens

Online Orders

This mode changes the app's behavior to focus on online orders. The home screen for this focus mode is a list of today's and any open online orders.

  • Shows latest online orders at the top and updates when a new one comes in
  • Can quickly switch to the store order screen to begin entering a new order.
